Flue for stacked construction

Safely discharging flue gases in apartment complexes is a specialist task. Whether it concerns central heating boilers, stoves or fireplaces: a leak within the living space is life-threatening. That's why we adhere to a clear rule: if you replace the appliance, you also replace the discharge system. For you as an installer and for the Owners' Association, this is often a complex puzzle. Do you replace the entire system, opt for a new duct, or is a partial adjustment sufficient? At Burgerhout, you will find the smart systems that simplify this challenge, with minimal disruption for residents.

CLV, half-CLV or individual

Which system do you choose?

The choice of a system depends on the number of storeys, the available space, and whether it is a new build or a renovation.

  • Individually: Usually the best choice for buildings up to 3 or 4 storeys. Each apartment has its own outlet to the roof or the facade.

  • CLV system: For more than 4 storeys, opt for a collective system. Thanks to its concentric pipe-in-pipe construction, this is the safest option; any leak in the flue pipe is immediately contained within the air supply pipe.

  • Half CLV This is applied when there isn't enough space in the shaft for a full CLV system. The flue gases go centrally to the roof, while the combustion air is drawn individually per flat from the facade.

The standard for high-rise buildings

Collective Systems (CLV)

Are you looking for a system where you can connect multiple boilers vertically to one common pipe? Then our concentric CLV system is the solution. It is compact, safe, and universally applicable to various brands of appliances.

Your benefits:

  • Telescopic connectors: easy to customise without fiddly sawing.
  • Universal: Suitable for connection to almost all common central heating boilers.
  • Safety: Maximum protection against leakage due to the concentric construction.

When undertaking renovation projects, you'll want to avoid demolition work. For this, you'll often opt for a CLV renovation solution or feeding existing channels. For renovation projects where an office building is transformed into apartments, our compact systems offer the flexibility you need in an existing structure.

Clever solution for lack of space

Half CLV systems for stacked construction

Are you looking for a reliable and safe system, but simply don't have the space for a fully concentric CLV system from a construction perspective? Then a Half CLV system the ideal outcome. With this type of system, you combine a common flue (to the roof) with an individual air supply per apartment (via the facade). This saves valuable space in the shaft, allowing the system to fit more quickly in complex situations.

At Burgerhout, you'll find these systems in various forms. Whether you have a preference for specific materials or work within strict aesthetic requirements, we have the solution to simplify your installation.

The advantages of a Half CLV system of Burgerhout

  • Compact systems that fit well when you don't have enough space for CLV
  • A diverse range of materials are available: work with what you find comfortable.
  • For your complete Half CLV system, you can come to one place.

Please note: Always check whether the central heating boiler is suitable for a Half CLV (Concentric Flue System) setup. Because you draw combustion air directly from the facade, wind pressure can influence the measurement pressure. This can cause some boilers to go into fault, but fortunately, there are many units that have been specifically tested for this and are resistant to it.

Flexibility per floor up to four storeys

Individual flue gas discharge systems in multi-storey buildings

For stacked construction up to three or four storeys, flue gas discharge is often managed individually per apartment. This gives each resident their own system and keeps management clear for the homeowners' association. Although for taller buildings there is a quicker switch to a collective CLV system, individual discharge in lower complexes is still a very popular and reliable choice.

At Burgerhout you will find a wide range of individual systems that prioritise safety and ease of installation. This way, you can always rely on a system that meets the strictest standards.

The advantages of an individual Burgerhoutsystem:

  • Ideal for low-rise buildings: The standard solution for complexes up to 3 or 4 storeys.
  • Higher head pressure: In some cases, more storeys are possible, provided that the connected appliance has sufficient head pressure.
  • Ease of installation: The systems consist of a minimal number of separate parts, considerably reducing your assembly time.
  • Versatile: Wide selection of materials and diameters for every structural situation.
