About Burgerhout
Solutions that let air perform
Burgerhout develops solutions for heat pumps, ventilation and flue gas extraction. With a complete range of air supply and air extraction, roof outlets, condensate extraction and soundproofing, we help installers to realize reliable and future-proof installations.
Our products are designed for the real world: logically structured, easy to install and tailored to the market. This helps installers to ensure optimal air performance.
Our history
For more than 160 years, we have been developing solutions that make air perform. What began as craftsmanship has grown into a strong foundation of knowledge, innovation, and product development. Today, we support installers with solutions for heat pumps, ventilation, and flue gas extraction that meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Burgerhout started out as a small smithy and grew into a fully-fledged engineering works and shipyard in the Port of Rotterdam
1932
Founding Muelink & Grol, then still under the name Wijma & Grol
1952
Wijma & Grol is moving to a new building on Paradijsvogelstraat in Groningen
1962
Burgerhout is moving to Assen
1987
Sale of Burgerhout to Alcoa
1996
Muelink & Grol and Burgerhout are merging and will continue as the M&G Group

M&G Group is getting a new owner: Egeria
2007
Ant Kalip (Istanbul, founded in 1955) joins the M&G Group

Burgerhout Academy
Technology never stands still. Neither should you. With the Burgerhout Academy, we help you keep up and move forward. We train on what matters in practice: safe flue gas extraction, smart ventilation, and system solutions you can apply immediately.
Our training courses are practically oriented and taught by people who know the trade. No theory for theory's sake, but knowledge that helps to build installations correctly and safely.
Whether you want to upskill your team or grow further yourself: we'll think along with you and make it practical.
